VOLUME 16, NUMBER 4400 401 BUMC PROCEEDINGS 2003;16:401–404 Providing access to scholarly scientific, technical, and medical (STM) information is becoming an increasingly difficult challenge. Authors need to be aware of the barriers facing the timely and widespread distribution of their scientific findings. After all, the dissemination of their findings and their subsequent impact on society are dependent on the success or failure of information distribution, whether in print or electronic form.
